Hardin County Health Department Promotes Back to School Immunizations

The Hardin County Health Department staff would like to invite parents and children to visit the library on Saturday 23rd July, 2016 from 10.00 a.m. To 12.00 noon. They will be offering free “Back to School” supplies and important immunization information.

In Tennessee, children enrolling in school for the first time and all children going into seventh grade must supply schools with a complete Official Tennessee Immunization Certificate before classes start. This is proof they have had all the immunizations necessary to protect them and their class-mates from serious vaccine-preventable diseases. The certificate must be signed by a qualified healthcare provider or verified by the state’s Immunization Information System.

Also, staff would like parents to “mark the date” for school-located flu clinics that will be held in each elementary school county-wide beginning in October.

The complete list of Tennessee child care and school immunization requirements is on the TDH website at www.tennesseeiis.gov and www.kidcentraltn.com For questions, call the Hardin County Health Department on 731 925 2557
