In order to check out materials from the library, patrons must first apply for a library card. To be issued a library card at no cost, a patron must:
Reside in Tennessee. If not resident of county, must have library card from home county and be in good standing at said library.
Obtain signature of parent or legal guardian on application if younger than sixteen years of age.
Provide as a reference the name, address and phone number of a person locally, not living in the same household as applicant.
Present some form of identification showing current address.
To be issued a library card without meeting residential standards as outlined above, a patron may pay a fee of $10.00 for a library card. At the end of three years, the patron must reapply and pay the $10.00 fee to renew the card. No more than three items at a time may be checked out by this patron.
Also, the fee for replacing a lost library card is $1.00 for first loss, $3.00 per card after that.
You can check out five items the first time with your new card. After the first time, the maximum number of items you may check out with your card is ten (this includes all items).
You must have your library card with to check out items or to renew them. If you have overdues or fines on your card, you may not check any other items out. There is a “day of grace” offered for your benefit. This is the very first day after the due date. After this day, fines will then be applied. For books or other book forms, the fine will be $0.10 a day.
Materials may be checked out for the following periods:
Books, book kits, CDs, and audio cassettes can be checked out for a two-week period
Videocassettes, DVDs, and Cake Pans can be checked out for a three-day period
Computer games and Creative Memories can be checked out for an in-house library hours period
Materials may be renewed by telephone or in person before or on the due date if they are not on reserve. Videocassettes, DVDs and Cake Pans may be renewed only once. Book materials within the two-week loan period may be renewed twice.
You can check out three of each or mixed, per household, no exceptions. If you are under 16, the computer will not allow you to check out videos or dvds; with your parent’s permission you may use their card to obtain videos or dvds.
After the day of grace, fines will be accrued for $1.00 per day up to the maximum fine of $2.50.
Patrons can reserve any item in our collection by filling out a reserve card. Any item on Reserve by another patron will not be renewed; i.e., videos, dvds, books, books on cassette, cds, or kits(books with cassettes).
1. Computers will be used for searching library materials and for patron research. Even though these computers have floppy drives (3 ˝ inch) on them, these drives are not for public use except in the case of downloading articles if the program permits it and then only if the disk is furnished by the library at a small cost. Disk will not be brought back and reloaded. These restrictions are necessary to control viruses.
2. There will be a charge of fifteen cents per printed page.
3. On some programs, the articles can be downloaded to a floppy disk. Program copying would result in copyright violation and is not allowed.
